Our Story…

My name is Laura Stiles and I am a proud San Antonio native! Being in the spotlight has always been second nature to me. I started singing at 3 and performing at 8! My mother’s friend spoke about a local dance company, “Showstoppers Academy of Musical Theater,” and this was where my passion started. After being there for years, I moved to a popular San Antonio studio called Rising Stars of Texas. That is where I blossomed and was shown that the sky is the limit. The staff molded their students into the best performers they could be. Looking back, several of us are still performing today and have amazing careers in the arts. While being at Rising Stars of Texas, I had multiple opportunities to teach and saw the power behind it. I continued my journey by attending the Northeast School of the Arts (NESA) at L.E.E High School. During those years, I performed in several musicals such as Oklahoma, and Miss Saigon. After I graduated, I was accepted to attend UT Austin as a Music Education Major.

After college, I returned to San Antonio to perform at Six Flags Fiesta Texas for 7 years. During my time there, I was a show captain and show swing. I danced, sang, and acted for thousands of patrons. Fun Fact: during those years, Six Flags Fiesta Texas was known for their award winning entertainment department chosen by Amusement Today. I also performed in community theater as a chance to expand my talents and gain experience. Kate McGowin from Titanic, and Glinda/Auntie Em from Wizard of OZ, was just a couple roles I was lucky to play.

I got away from performing for a time and switched to teaching. I was looking for a new studio when my dad called me one day. “Laura, there is a studio looking for a vocal teacher here in Stone Oak, called LA Performing Arts.” That conversation with my dad changed my life for the better. It might seem cliche, but honestly the owner and students welcomed me and I created friendships with some of the best in the business. I love my students as if they were my own, and some call me their 2nd mom. One day the studio went thru a rough patch and was forced to close. That moment rocked my world! It was the first time in 11 years I hadn’t taught a student, or been in a studio. It was a feeling I never want to feel again! With the help of my family and friends I decided to create and open a studio of my own. I wanted to be there for those students that lost their studio and be available for students to have a place to come grow there passion like I did.
